I am a BACP Registered counselor with a diploma in Gestalt physchotherapeutic counselling, an MSc in executive coaching and training in mindfulness and self-compassion focused therapy. I have worked in different mental health settings including hospitals, GP practices and counselling organisations. 

Before becoming a coach and counselor I spent 20 years managing humanitarian projects with people of different cultures in 13 war and poverty torn countries. I have worked to chief executive and board level managing large teams and big budgets. My original training is in civil engineering (BSc) and tropical public health (MSc). 

In addition to my life experience and my training as a coach and counselor, I have spent (and continue to spend) many years working through my own wounds and patterns. I am a long term student of the Diamond Approach which is essentially a mix of Eastern spiritual practice and western psychology, centering around the 3 practices of presence, inquiry and meditation. I am passionate about understanding what it is to be human, how we can be our true selves and live life to the full from that place. I am committed to my own personal and professional development and continue training at the Pacific Gestalt Institute in Los Angeles and the International Gestalt Institute, Turin. I have fortnightly supervision and weekly therapy. I regularly attend workshops, conferences and retreats. I meditate daily. This all allows me to keep up to date and to offer a reflective, ethical practice. 

For fun I used to ride motorbikes and compete in high octane sports such as the Sahara / Himalyas supermarathons and rally navigating. Nowadays I prefer a simple life outdoors in nature with my dog, learning to sing and play guitar, dabbling in art, mosaic and jewellery making.
